Columbus
Columbus, also known called "Cap City", is the largest city in Ohio and also the state's capital, hence the nickname. It is located in Franklin County. However, Columbus is the states 3rd largest metropolia area behind Cincinnati and Cleveland. It is situated in central Ohio on the Scioto River. The city's economy is broad and includes aviation, banking, education, defense, fashion, insurance, food, logistics, steel, energy, medical research, health care, hospitality, retail, and technology.
Columbus is the base for two public colleges: The Ohio State University, which is among the largest college campuses in the United States, and Columbus State Community College.
Columbus was founded in 1812, named after Christopher Columbus, the explorer.
